Eve Allen Garza

Eve Allen Garza joined the Conservatory of Movement faculty in 2013 and took over ownership of the studio in 2025. She is a Teaching Associate Professor for the Department of Theatre and Dance at the University of Nevada, Reno. Ms. Eve is also an Associate Member of the Royal Academy of Dance and is a Registered Teacher for the Rambert grades contemporary dance syllabus.

Alexander Van Alstyne
Instructor, Majors
Alexander Van Alstyne has been dancing since the age of 8 and started performing professionally at 15 years old with companies such as Ballet West, San Francisco Ballet, Boston Ballet, and Utah ballet. He moved to Reno in 1988 and has been teaching in the community and at the University of Nevada, Reno, for the past 23 years. In 1994, he founded A.V.A Ballet Theatre, and has been the artistic director and choreographer for numerous productions at the Pioneer Center for the Performing Arts.

Jenna Fortino
Instructor, Pre School, Primary, Jazz 3, Rambert 2 and 3
​Jenna Fortino has been dancing since the age of three, and dove deeper into the art through her studies at the University of Nevada, Reno. Earning a B.A in Dance in 2023, she studied a variety of styles, most consistently being Ballet, Jazz and Modern. Since graduating, she has enjoyed teaching jazz, ballet and contemporary at the Conservatory of Movement, performing as an Around the Stage company member, and performing in various other projects.

Miriam Allen
Instructor, Pre-Primary, Grade 2-5, and Intermediate
Miriam Allen studied Royal Academy of Dance from the age of three in England and progressed through theatre and modern dance into the International Dance Teachers Association. After an impressive career performing internationally, she settled in Reno and began teaching at the Conservatory of Movement in 1988 and is a registered Royal Academy of Dance teacher and co-director of A.V.A Ballet Theatre.

Kelly Rubero
Instructor, Grade 3 and 4
Kelly Rubero began her dance training at the age of four in Southern California. At 17, she relocated with her family to Reno, Nevada, where she continued her ballet studies at the Conservatory of Movement and the University of Nevada, Reno. Dedicated to lifelong learning, Ms. Kelly has completed professional development courses through the Royal Academy of Dance. In addition to her work in dance education, Ms. Kelly is a certified English teacher with more than 20 years of experience serving students in the Washoe County School District.

Skyy Warner
Instructor, Jazz 1 and 2
Skyy Warner is a passionate dancer, choreographer, and educator with over ten years of experience in performance and dance training. She graduated in 2026 from the University of Nevada, Reno with a B.S. in Elementary Education and a minor in Dance, performing in numerous showcases such as the Fall Dance Festival, Spring Dance Concert, and the Student Choreography showcase. Her overarching goal is to inspire dancers to grow in confidence, creativity, and technique while discovering the joy of dance.
